Food habits are developed early on, whether they’re good or bad. Many high school students generally eat whatever is quick, easy, and cheap. However, these foods may not be good for your health.

Some types of diets include gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and raw food.

All of these have different and unique health benefits, but not all of these are suitable for every individual.

A gluten free diet is ideal for people who have celiac disease. A gluten free diet is essentially just taking out anything that contains gluten.

Some foods that include gluten are wheat, processed foods, flavored drinks, and processed meat.

A vegan diet is eating foods that don’t contain any animal products, including, meat, eggs, and dairy. Vegan diets help promote weight loss, are at reduced risks of serious illnesses, and more environmentally sustainable.

A vegetarian diet is very similar to a vegan diet, except you can eat foods containing animal products, just not meat.

You get the same benefits from a vegetarian diet as you do a vegan diet.

A raw food diet is eating foods that are not processed, pasteurized, or homogenized. Some foods include fruits, vegetables, nuts, and meats.

Some pros of having a healthy diet are having more energy, a healthy weight, a strong heart and body, and clear skin.

Some cons of dieting include that; it is more expensive, and more work to make healthy meals.

Although there are some cons to dieting, the rewards are life lasting. Changing the way you eat shouldn’t be thought of as a diet, but more as a new, healthy lifestyle change.
